"English Timber mostly grown, and used, within ten miles of home"

This is the forestry and sawmilling arm of the Staunton Harold Estate. We manage our four hundred acres of mixed woodland in the traditional way, planting, thinning and felling trees in a continuous cycle which spans the centuries. We are the only estate in the National Forest operating our own sawmill, and rare within the whole of England. Head forester Mark Shaw and I have worked together for about forty years, and now his daughter Rachel is our 'front of house' girl. Cut to order, usually within a couple of weeks, these are the main bespoke items we are called on to provide. However, we get all sorts of unusual requests -if B & Q doesn't stock it please give us a call.

We dry logs though the summer months in our large open sheds, and thus can offer a choice of freshly cut or seasoned material. This is an important outlet for the thinnings and branchwood from our own woods and others nearby.
